Arabian Sea - Follow-ups: Mount Shinmoe volcano on the main southwestern Japanese island of Kyushu erupted, spewing a plume of ash 5,500 meters above the crater. Kyodo News quoted the Japan Meteorological Agency as saying that the eruption, which occurred yesterday morning, sent volcanic material to a height of 5,000 meters above the summit of the volcano for the first time since July 3.
