**Arabian Sea - Follow-ups:** **A UN-affiliated independent international commission of inquiry said that Israel committed genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, confirming that the Israeli authorities committed four of the five acts of genocide defined in the 1948 Convention, including killing, causing serious bodily or mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions of life, and taking measures to prevent births.** **The commission added that official statements and patterns of behavior by Israeli security forces indicate that these acts were committed with the intent to destroy the Palestinians as a group, in whole or in part, noting Israel's failure to prevent the crimes or hold perpetrators accountable.** **The commission called on Israel to end the starvation policy, lift the siege, and ensure the unhindered access of humanitarian aid. It also called on member states to halt the transfer of weapons that could be used in the commission of genocide and to hold accountable individuals and companies involved.** **The head of the commission, Navi Pillay, said that "the international community cannot remain silent, and every day of inaction takes lives and undermines its credibility," stressing that all states are legally obligated to use all available means to stop the genocide in Gaza.**
